Mobile billboard advertising cost in South Africa

Mobile billboard (trailer) advertising in Gauteng costs between R200 and R285 per day with Simply Visible SA, depending on how long you commit for. That rate includes the trailer, high-traffic placement in the suburb you choose, four repositions a month, in-house printing, free setup, weekly photo reports and a fully insured fleet — the daily rate you agree to is the full price of the campaign.

What actually drives the cost

Campaign length

The single biggest lever. Our month-to-month rate is R285 a day with no commitment; committing to three months drops it to R230 a day, and six months to R200 a day. The trailer, locations and service are identical — you are only paying for flexibility.

Printing and setup

Included in our rates. Some operators quote a low placement rate and add printing, setup and artwork changes on top — always ask whether the quoted number is the number you will actually pay. We print in-house, and setup is free on every plan.

Repositioning

A mobile billboard only earns its keep if it actually moves. Every plan includes four trailer moves per month, with a photograph of your board on location after every move, so you are never guessing whether the campaign is running.

Insurance and risk

Our fleet is fully insured with free third-party cover, and a damaged trailer is replaced within 48 hours at no cost to you. If a quote elsewhere is cheaper, check who carries the risk when a board is damaged or stolen.

How it compares to static billboards and radio

Static billboard sites in South Africa are quoted as monthly rentals that vary enormously with the location — from a few thousand rand a month for a small suburban site to six figures for premium highway gantries — and the board cannot move if the spot is not working. Radio is bought in airtime flights, where the rate climbs with the timeslot and the station's whole footprint hears your ad whether they are near your business or not. A mobile billboard is priced as a fixed daily rate for a board parked in the specific suburb you sell to, and it is repositioned four times a month if your customers move.
