Mobile billboards — Industries
Mobile billboard advertising for gyms and fitness studios
Nobody drives across a city to train. A gym's members come from the suburbs around it — and a mobile billboard is priced for exactly that catchment: your offer, parked on the Johannesburg and greater Gauteng routes your future members drive every day, from R200 a day.
Why gyms get results from a trailer
Joining a gym is a decision people circle for weeks before acting. The board on their daily route does the circling with them — every morning commute past your offer is another nudge, until January or the first warm weekend tips them over. When they finally decide, they join the gym they have been seeing, not the one they have to search for.
The seasonality works in your favour too. Gym demand spikes in January and again before summer, and a trailer lets you buy those windows deliberately: a fixed daily rate, a board timed to the spike, four repositions a month rotating through your catchment suburbs, and a photo after every move.
What gyms put on the board
- — A joining offer with a number. "No joining fee — R399 p/m" is a board a driver acts on. "Your fitness journey starts here" is not. We flag offer-free artwork before it prints.
- — January and summer campaigns. Timed boards for the two windows when the whole suburb is thinking about it.
- — Opening boards. A new gym's catchment learns about it once — the board makes sure it happens in launch month.
- — Class and programme launches. Group classes, personal training, ladies-only hours, kids' programmes — each one a fresh board in 2 – 3 working days from our in-house printer.
- — Challenge campaigns. 8-week challenges with a start date give the board a deadline, and deadlines pull.
What a gym campaign includes
- — 4 trailer moves every month
- — Free setup
- — Weekly photo updates
- — Free third-party cover on a fully insured fleet
Rates run from R200 a day depending on campaign length. See the full 2026 cost guide for what drives the price.
Straight answers for gyms
When should a membership campaign start?+
Before the spike, not during it. A January campaign should be on the road in December while resolutions are forming; a summer campaign in early spring. Most campaigns are live within 3 working days of artwork approval, so tell us the window and we plan backwards from it.
Can the board rotate through the suburbs around us?+
Yes — four repositions a month are included. A typical schedule rotates the board through the three or four suburbs inside your catchment, with a photograph sent after every move.
Does this work for small studios, not just big-box gyms?+
Yes, often better. A boutique studio has no national brand doing its awareness work — the board is the awareness campaign, at a fixed daily rate, parked inside the only radius that matters.
Can we park near a competitor gym?+
Tell us your objective and we will plan the positions around it. We place boards on high-traffic public routes in the suburbs you choose — the routes your catchment drives are usually the same routes theirs does.
