Mobile billboards — Industries

Mobile billboard advertising for restaurants and takeaways

Most restaurants live or die inside a five-kilometre radius. A mobile billboard is priced for exactly that radius: a board with your special, your dish and your location, parked on the roads your customers drive at dinner time, across 16 suburbs in Johannesburg and greater Gauteng, from R200 a day.

Why restaurants get results from a trailer

Nobody plans dinner three weeks ahead. The decision happens in the car, on the way home, hungry — which is precisely when your board is parked at the intersection before the turnoff. A driver stuck in evening traffic has time to read your special, see the dish and remember where you are.

The economics matter too. Delivery apps take a cut of every order, forever. A board costs the same fixed daily rate whether it sends you ten customers or a hundred — and the customers it sends walk through your own front door, not an app.

And when a special ends or a new menu launches, the campaign moves with you: four repositions a month are included, and because we print in-house, a new board is ready in 2 – 3 working days.

What restaurants put on the board

Who has run restaurant boards with us

Ocean Basket ran a new menu board with us in Sunninghill, Piatto ran a specials board at Kyalami Corner, and Pizza Perfect is among the brands we have carried. You can see the boards in our gallery.

What a restaurant campaign includes

Rates run from R200 a day depending on campaign length. We review your board copy against the AIDA framework before printing — around 80% of a campaign's success comes down to what the board actually says. See the full 2026 cost guide for what drives the price.

Straight answers for restaurants

Can I change the artwork when my special changes?+

Yes. We print in-house, so a new board takes 2 – 3 working days from approved artwork — no outside print queue. Many restaurants plan artwork changes around their specials calendar so a fresh board is always ready before the old special ends.

Where exactly would you park it?+

On the high-traffic approach routes into your trade area — the intersections and centre entrances your customers pass at lunch and dinner time, not just any busy road. Tell us your address and we will come back with the specific spots we can get you, matched to your peak trading hours.

Does it work for delivery and takeaway-only kitchens?+

Yes, arguably even better. A dark kitchen has no shopfront doing its advertising — the board becomes the shopfront. Put the dish, the ordering number or app, and the delivery area on the board, and park it inside that delivery area.

We are one restaurant inside a big shopping centre. Is it still worth it?+

That is one of the most common campaigns we run. The centre's own signage advertises the centre; your board on the approach road advertises you, before the customer has parked and defaulted to whatever they see first in the food court.

Tell us your suburb and your special. We will tell you what it costs.
